2010 A BIG SUCCESS!

null
We had a bit of mist and a lot of sun and big smiles all around. We had a great breakfast, started the HeartLand Tour stage by riding over scenic country roads and those who ran in the Sheila Poole race soon joined us for the rest of the bike ride and we followed that by being a part of the Seafest Parade, what a day! Thanks to all of you who participated to make this year the best HeartLand Tour ever. Yarmouth knows how to get active and lead healthy active lifestyles and have fun at the same time. You all did your part to encourage others to be active.

Thanks to our many volunteers who helped everything run so smoothly.Without our volunteers we could not have had such a successful event. Every community across NS had increased participation for this years HearLand Tour. Many people chose to participate in 2 or more HeartLand Tour stages. In the Yarmouth HLT stage we had people come join us from as far away as British Columbia. A big thanks to Tom, Dave and Brydon who organized and ran the HLT support van and provided everything from bike parts, bike repairs and granola bars and always with a smile. You guys are great.

Youth participation this year was way up which was a main goal for the planning of this years HLT. The Heartland Tour has a way of bringing people together, bringing communities together and bringing the province together. Many of us have made very good friends by meeting wonderful people like you from across the province and across the country. The Yarmouth Heartland Tour Committee is already starting to plan next year's event.
Thanks for being a part of the 2010 Tour.

THE 2010 YARMOUTH HLT ROUTE HAS BEEN SELECTED!

The 2010 Yarmouth HLT Route has been announced and finalized. We have kept some of the best from last year and added some new roads to make this years ride a hit with everyone! Members of the Yarmouth HeartLand Organizing Committee and the Bluewater Cycling Club will soon take a preview bicycle ride of the 2010 route.

At the end of the HLT ride all walkers, runners, skateboarders and cyclists will be joining the Yarmouth Seafest Parade to lead out the parade for this year. A few lucky youths will be winning a brand new bicycle and there will be great prizes for all age groups at the closing ceremonies of the HeartLand Tour at Beacon Church after the parade. More news to come soon and will be posted on this site.
