Truro - 2011 Heartland Tour
The location is Truro's beautiful Victoria Park.
Start time of 11:30 and completion at 1:30 PM for the events at Victoria Park.
Musical performance by Truro’s Tim Bowers (well known in the community).
We will have face painting, clowns, chocolate milk from Scots burn, as well as free subs from Subway.
We will be drawing for 3 bikes and helmets from Truro's Hub Cycle.
Key spokes people: our CEO, Peter Mackinnon, our cardiologist Dr. Masis Perk; both will be representing our Health Authority (CEHHA).
Other potential key speakers we hope to have are Scott Armstrong (MP) and Mayor, Bill Mills.
We will have a bike ride for the kids with the Heartland tour members at the park at 1:00 PM.
We will have health information booths set up regarding blood pressure and dietary concerns.
The ride itself with the core cycling group (anyone from the public can join in) will start at Hub Cycle on Inglis street in Truro at 9:30 AM and is approximately 60 kilometers.
